Nearly 100 years later, the world is still fascinated by the tragedy of the Titanic. The Titanic Artifact Exhibition opened in Union Station in Kansas City today and will run through September. Friday!

Weekends come and go (unfortunately) but memories last forever! So make some memories this weekend at some of these events in megabus cities:

Minneapolis Bike Tour - Once a year, motorized traffic is blocked from certain streets in Minneapolis for this annual bike tour. Featuring a short and long route  - both with rest stops and refreshments - see Minneapolis at your own pace while reducing your carbon footprint! Sept. 18.

Brooklyn Book Festival - The largest free literary festival in the NYC metro area, it’s just a short cab ride from our stop in Manhattan! Some of the world’s best known and upcoming authors will be there. The actual festival is Sept. 18, but events will be going on all weekend!

Eco-Fest - Everybody knows Megabus is an environmentally-friendly way to travel  - so celebrate how green you are at Eco Fest in NYC! This FREE event on Sept. 18 at Pier 86 at The Intrepid is a great way to learn more about sustainability, and have some fun while you’re at it!

Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts - This cultural and architectural gem officially opens in Kansas City this weekend. On Sunday, there will be a FREE open house - complete with tours and performances. Be sure to check out this amazing new facility!

Labor Day extravaganza

You’ve got a long weekend ahead of you. The days of summer are waning… I hope everybody is getting out and traveling or experiencing all the great things their city has to offer. Here’s some ideas for what to do this Labor Day weekend in some megabus.com cities

Hy-Vee triathalon- See some of the world’s best triathletes compete on Sept. 4 in Des Moines. I don’t know how they do it!

Kansas City Irish Fest- What better way to spend a long weekend than listening to Celtic music, learning about Irish traditions, and doing some whiskey tasting? This is one of the top 3 biggest Irish Festivals in the nation. Sept. 2-4

Baltimore Grand Prix - This inaugural Indy race is on the temporary track created through the streets of Baltimore - so cool! The weekend event will feature world-class motorsports competition from several racing series, culminating in Sunday’s IZOD IndyCar Series race.

Dog Pull-a-palooza - See dogs of all sizes compete to be top dog at this first-ever event at the New York State Fair on Sept.5 . Dogs will pull a weighted cart - the dog who can pull the most weight wins. Kind of like at tractor pull, but the pullers are much more cuddly! Note: no dogs have ever been hurt in this event.
